Despite concussion history, Clarke MacArthur says Im going to play if I can

Before officially confirming that hell be back next season, Ottawa Senators winger Clarke MacArthur is hoping to get a clean bill of health.

I dont know what the play is, MacArthur said as he packed up his bags and sticks in the Senators dressing room. I just want to take a week or two and see how I feel. I still love playing the game. Ive got to talk to the doctors and take a week or so and see where I go.

MacArthurs return in April, after an 18-month post-concussion battle, was one of many feel good stories during Ottawas season.

But he revealed Saturday that he has been feeling some discomfort in the neck area.

I feel pretty good, he said. I just want to make sure Im all sorted out. Its my neck, not anything else. It should be good. From the first round (against Boston), I could feel it. I will get an MRI and go from there.

MacArthur, 32, has three years and $13.95 million remaining on his contract.
